The objective of the game is to get two cards with a total value of 21 or as
close to it as possible. Each card is assigned a value. The suit of the cards
and its color is not important in this game.
The cards with numbers 2-10 are valued as their number indicates. Face cards like Jacks, Queen and King are valued as ten. Ace can be counted as one or eleven depending on what you need the ace for. A hand that has an Ace is referred to as a soft hand while a hard hand means a hand without an Ace. If you get a hand that is less than 21, 17 and higher is good so do not take a hit for another card. Because if the dealer hands you a card that would cause your hand to have a value of more than 21, that is called a bust – that means you lose. |

The Ace is probably the most important card in this game, regardless of its name.
When you get a hand with an Ace and ten or any face cards, you get a Blackjack
and win the game.
Blackjack seems like a simple game to play, but to win, you have to have a blackjack strategy. You have to familiarize the game if you want to increase your odds in winning. Beginners should start off with a low minimum bet and try to get feel of the game. If you have a card that totals to 18 or higher, always stay. Even if you have a soft hand, meaning one of your cards is ace, therefore, can be counted as one, do not take the risk and hit. The same goes with hard 17 and higher. Do not take a hit, because chances are, your card is the best possible card that you can get. Before playing Blackjack, decide on how much you can afford to lose. And whatever amount you decide, you have to stick by it and stop when you have reach you limit. Avoid the temptation of winning back your money with one large bet. This will lead to sloppy play on your part and large losses on your pocket. |
